55 Gallon Delpak Plastic/Steel X Rated Composite Drum

Our 55 gallon Delpak drum is a polyethylene drum in a steel drum overpack.  The inner container is precision molded in one piece from high density polyethylene.  Unlike some steel drums, the Delpak drum insures product purity.  The unique properties of the separate plastic innerpack eliminates product contamination caused by pinholes, cracking or flaking that can occur with some steel drum linings.  This drum is a closed head drum, the cover does not come off.  It has two 2″ buttress plugs with polyethylene gaskets.  The buttress plugs are threaded directly into the drum.  This helps to prevent leaking and to protect the steel from corrosion.  This composite drum has a UN rating of UN6HA1/X1.6/300 making it suitable for packing groups I, II and III.  Of course, it may also be used for non-hazardous applications.  The manufacturer advises that the specification for wall thickness of this inner polyethylene liner is .060 – .080″.

Suggested uses are for foods, pharmaceuticals, cleaners, chemicals, water treatment chemicals, photochemicals, bleaching compounds, flammable liquids, corrosives and acids.  As always, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the product is compatible with the container.
