Large Drums

We have received several inquiries asking if we carry large drums, and most frequently the calls are asking for drums made of either plastic, fiber or steel.  We stock drums in all three of these categories.  In this article, we will discuss drums 14 gallon or larger.  Some of the drums have a UN designation and some are non UN drums.

Plastic

We carry plastic drums in the following sizes:

• 15 gallon closed head (tight head)
• 30 gallon closed head and open head
• 55 gallon closed head and open head

They come in black, white, blue and natural.  (Not all drums come in every color).   Check individual items listed below for UN designation.  Our closed head (tight head) drums do not have a removable cover.  They have bungs (also called plugs or fittings).  Our open head drums have covers that are removable and are held on with a lever locking ring. The 55 gallon blue open head drum shown below is shown with a removable cover with bungs.  The drum comes with a solid cover.  If you need a cover with bungs, please ask specifically for that.  The cost is $1.00 more than the solid cover.

15 Gallon Black Plastic Closed Top Round High Density Polyethylene Item: PDC0015MA20002 UN Rating: 1H1/X1.9/250 Pack: 1This black 15 gallon deldrum is a closed head drum and the cover is not removable. It has two 2" buttress plugs with 3/4" center reducers. It is blow molded, made from high density polyethylene and is heavily constructed for maximum chemical resistance. It has dual rectractable handles for extra strength and durability. It has a stackable interlocking design and exaggerated rolling hoops for easy handling and optimal label protection.

15 Gallon White Plastic Closed Top Round High Density Polyethylene Item: PDC0015MA10001 UN Rating: 1H1/Y1.9/100 Pack: 6This is a 15 gallon white tight head drum. The cover does not come off. It has a single heavy duty handle which folds down to allow the interlocking head design to work and it is made of blow molded high density polyethylene. It has one 2" Rieke NPT plug with a 3/4" center reducer and one Rieke 3/4" NPT plug. Both plugs have EPDM gaskets. These drums have a stackable interlocking head which is designed for superior storage.

30 Gallon Blue Plastic Closed Top Round High Density Polyethylene Item: PDC0030MA40001 UN Rating: 1H1/Y1.8/100 & 1H1/Y1.4/100 When Vented Pack: 1Our 30 gallon blue tight head drum has a cover that does not come off. It is made from high density polyethylene and is food grade. This drum has one 2" NPS plug and one 2" Buttress plug.

Steel

Our steel drum selection consists of:

• 15 gallon open head and closed head
• 30 gallon closed head and open head
• 55 gallon open head and closed head
• 55 gallon closed head steel drum with plastic liner
• 55 gallon composite drum

We carry steel drums that are both lined and unlined.  Most, but not all, of these drums are UN rated.  Check individual items below for UN designations.

Fiber

Our fiber drum styles consist of both Lok-Rim (drums with a metal locking ring) and All Fiber (drums with no metal parts).  Check individual items listed below for UN designation.  Not all drums are UN rated.

Lok-Rim drums can be made with fiber or steel covers.  If you have a specific need for a Lok-Rim or All Fiber drum, and do not see the drum in the list below, please note that fiber drums can be custom made and, in most cases, a quantity of 50 is all that is needed.
