Lined Tighthead Steel Pail for Water Based Resins

We stock a 5 gallon lined blue steel pail, manufactured by Cleveland Steel, that is good for water based resins.  The specifics of this pail are as follows:

  • Blue exterior
  • 2 coat Buff Epoxy Phenolic Lining
  • Tight Head – Rieke Opening
  • UN1A1/Y1.8/300
  • 24 Gauge
  • Outside Height: 13  11/16″
  • Inside Diameter: 11 1/4″
  • Inside Height: 12 11/16″

The manufacturer, Cleveland Steel, states in their brochure that the advent of epoxy resin has improved the flexibility of the lining and has excellent resistance to alkaline products.  They further state that in general, the epoxy-phenolic lining has been designed to provide outstanding chemical resistance for products that have a PH range of 7.0-9.0.  One of the products that is typically packaged in this type of lining is water based resins.  However, we strongly suggest you request a sample and test the compatibility of your product with this container.  It is always the responsibility of the customer to ensure product compatibility.

Our 5 gallon blue steel pail with a buff epoxy phenolic lining is a tight head pail with a Rieke opening. It has a hole covered with a dust cap. Pails are shipped empty, with the dust cap on, so they remain clean. The end user fills the pail and then crimps on a Rieke Flexspout (sold separately). A Rieke Flexspout is a retractable plastic pour spout which offers a reliable and tamper evident seal. When the spout is closed, it has a low profile for ease of stacking. The tamper evident cap has a pull tab for fast removal. To pour from this pail simply pull up the spout, dispense your product and reclose. UN1A1/Y1.8/300
