Steel Drum with Dual UN Ratings for Both Liquids and Solids

We stock a 55 gallon open head carbon steel drum with dual UN ratings for both liquids and solids.  Specifications of the drum are as follows:

• 3 U.S. style body beads
• 1.1mm (18 gauge) steel body and bottom
• 1.3mm (16 gauge) steel cover with 5/8 EPDM gasket
• Interior unlined (rust inhibitor only)
• Exterior black body with a white cover
• Lid held on by bolt ring
• Dual UN Rating of UN1A2/X422/S & UN1A2/Y1.5/100

This drum is rated for Packing Group I  (X) for solids and Packing Group II (Y)  for liquids.  This rating is for hazardous product.  The drum may also be used for non-hazardous product.

Explanation of the solid rating:

• UN = United Nations
• 1 = Drum
• A = Steel
• 2 = Open Head
• X = Packing Group I (can also be used for Packing Groups II & III)
• 422 = Maximum gross mass the container has been tested to hold (The drum plus it’s contents)
• S = Solids

Explanation of the liquid rating:

• UN = United Nations
• 1 = Drum
• A = Steel
• 2 = Open Head
• Y = Packing Group II (can also be used for Packing Group III)
• 1.5 = Maximum specific gravity of the liquid the container has been tested to hold
• 100 = Maximum hydrostatic pressure the container has been tested to hold for 5 minutes

55 Gallon Black/White Steel Round 1.3/1.1/1.1mm Steel Unlined Item: SDO0055GC2U003 UN Rating: 1A2/X422/S & 1A2/Y1.5/100 Opening: Open Head Pack: 1 This is a black open head drum with a white cover. It has one 2" and one 3/4" Trisure plug. The cover is removable and is held on with a bolt ring. **DUAL UN RATINGS FOR BOTH LIQUIDS AND SOLIDS**
