Buying 55 gallon tighthead plastic barrels (drums)
We currently stock 55 gallon closed top (closed head) round plastic drums in both blue (item#SPP055C400UL1) and natural color (item# SPP055CN00UL1). These barrels are made of HDPE, high density polyethylene. The natural barrel has the added benefit of allowing viewing of the liquid level, and has graduation marks. This 55 gallon size drum can store up to 800 pounds of liquid. The cover has one 2 inch NPT (National Pipe Thread) or NPS (National Pipe Standard) and one 2 inch buttress plug. These FDA food grade drums have a UN rating of UN1H1/Y1.8/100. The advantages of these heavy duty containers include:
